About
From documenting the streets to capturing those special moments and memories!
Hi there! I'm Luisa, but most people call me Lulu, and I’m the owner and main photographer behind LuluSolei Photography. I’m a proud Queens, New York native, a daughter, an older sister, a devoted mom, loving wife, aunt, godmother, and best friend. I’m the kind of person who’s always smiling, loves to have fun, and believes in the magic of capturing life’s greatest moments.
Photography, for me, is more than just a job—it’s about documenting the memories that bring us joy for years to come. I know firsthand how important these moments are to reflect on, which is why I feel incredibly lucky to be the one behind the lens, preserving your family’s stories.
I’ve always had a camera in my hand. As a child, I was the one snapping pictures at every family gathering and even recording with those big, clunky video cameras from back in the day! It wasn’t until college, though, that I took my first black-and-white film photography class and fell head over heels in love with the craft. From there, everything I’ve learned has been self-taught, along with a little guidance from the incredible photographers I’ve had the privilege to work with.
I started out photographing the streets of New York City, and what began as a hobby soon blossomed into something more. Family and friends started asking me to document their special events, and before I knew it, I had a little photography business on my hands. My first destination wedding in the Bahamas was a major turning point, and that was the beginning of what has now become a beautiful and fulfilling career.
I've had the pleasure of photographing in many countries, especially during my time living in Uruguay, where I became part of the first-ever Mercado de Fotos at Casa Arbus. If you ever find yourself in Uruguay, you can check out some of my work on display at Checoffee, the coolest coffee shop in town. Closer to home, I was the main photographer for Queens Pride for eight years, and I’m honored that some of my images were showcased at the Queens Museum in celebration of Stonewall50.
Every photo I take is a story, a moment, and a memory frozen in time. I can’t wait to document yours.
